On Tuesday, November 3rd, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito signed a Community Compact agreement with officials from the towns of Westborough, Shrewsbury, and Lancaster. This agreement enables the Governor’s Office to work more closely with towns in order to improve standards of living throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
In its Compacts, the Town of Westborough pledges to develop a documented plan to identify issues and service improvements surrounding the anticipated increase in older drivers, as well as developing a documented plan for local infrastructure the furthers commercial development and housing production.
The Community Compact is a voluntary, mutual agreement entered into between the Baker-Polito Administration and individual cities and towns of the Commonwealth. In a Community Compact, a community will agree to implement a best practice they select from across a variety of areas. The Compact also articulates the commitments the Commonwealth will make on behalf of all communities, including helping the community attain their chosen best practice.
