Senior Scene Jan 2016 – In Honor of Charlie Flood

It is with heavy hearts that we bring you January’s Senior Scene – complete with all this month’s events at the Westborough Senior Center. Sadly, Charlie Flood, the co-host of Senior Scene, died on Dec 31st, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

The above clip is just a small tribute to Charlie from an Arts in Common performance we recorded. We thought it captured his charming personality and beautiful singing voice as well. He loved to be on stage!

Charlie has been the host of Westborough TV’s Senior Scene since the show’s debut in March of 2013. Charlie co-hosted with Joann Nordmark until March of 2014 when Bill LaPrade became his co-host.  He really loved doing this show – looked forward to the monthly recording over here at the studio – even laughed at some of our jokes and made a few of his own (“My tongue got in the way of my eye teeth and I couldn’t see what I was saying!)”.  Charlie will certainly be missed by all of us.

As they say in the business, “the show must go on” and so it does, with January’s Senior Scene being hosted by co-host Bill LaPrade and his wife of over 48 years(!) Carol.  Carol is very active with the Senior Center and the supporters group and we appreciated her willingness to step into the co-host role. You can view this month’s entire Senior Scene here, or watch it at 8:30am every day or 8:30pm on Wed evening on Westborough TV (Verizon Channel 24, Charter Channel 191).
