Input Needed: 2016 Open Space Survey

The Town of Westborough and the Open Space Preservation Committee is asking that residents complete a brief “Open Space & Recreation Plan Survey” to help the town in updating our 5 year Open Space & Recreation plan.  This plan seeks to identify Open Space needs in town, including what we currently own and what we would like to see in the future.  The plan is also needed to see whether our current recreation facilities are adequate and what our needs are in the future.  Take survey here.

In this video, Town Conservation Officer Derek Saari explains that the plan needs to be submitted to the Commonwealth for approval, and a public survey is one part of the process in identifying our needs and then developing an action plan.  Another step in the process will be public meetings held to get more input once the data from this survey has been synthesized.  Westborough TV will provide more information on this topic and any future meetings.

Walking trails that go all the way around Minute Man lake would be wonderful. The charm bracelet is too buggy and noisey. Also safe walking paths from Morse Street to the downtown would be great. .

    Hi Patty,

The plan is to connect Minuteman Park to the Bowman Conservation Area via a path on the backside of the guardrail along Upton Road. This will be completed perhaps by the end of this year or the spring of 2017. Thank you for your comments
