The Veterans Advisory Board of Westborough, MA is sponsoring a community drive to provide care packages to a battalion of troops primarily from Massachusetts that are stationed in the Middle East. The battalion consist of 189 males and 3 females. The First United Methodist Church of Westborough MA. is assisting the Veterans Advisory Board with the logistics, their location will be used for storing, assembling and shipping the packages.
The Mission Statement of the Veterans Advisory Board follows:
The WVAB advocates for veterans of all wars and conflicts to ensure every veteran in Westborough is treated with dignity and respect, promulgates information about benefits and policies as they pertain to Westborough veterans, raises awareness about veterans throughout our community, and renders assistance to the District Director of Veterans’ Services upon request. For Town celebratory activities like (but not limited to) Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day, the WVAB takes the lead in planning and execution. The Westborough Veterans’ Advisory Board (WVAB) seeks to make our community a remarkable place for a veteran to call “home.”
We have established locations where residents of Westborough may come and pick up their box that will have instructions as to the items requested by this infantry battalion. Residents should use the “shopping list” as a guide, and when the box is filled it should be returned to either the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main Street, Westborough MA. 508-366-4910, or the locations listed below no later than FEBRUARY 23, 2018.
