Full Court Press – Season Finale – 3/21/19

The Full Court Press crew from WHS was in studio on March 21, 2019 for a season finale wrap-up show unlike any other! In this episode, the team of Will Schiffman, Mike Doherty, Quinn Donovan, Matt McCarthy, Matt Doherty and Ryan Nichols take viewers through the RecBall Championship Game, WASA’s RecBall All-Star Game, some RecBall season superlatives as well as taking a look back on this 2018-2019 RecBall season and a look ahead at what the future holds. Interest in Westborough Rec Department’s Recball League may be at an all-time high – with 16 teams and about 160 high school players. Thanks to Stephen Croft and Jenn Kirkland for continuing to support and grow this program that is so popular with kids and adults throughout Westborough, as was apparent from the hundreds of fans who came out for the tournament games, and the All Star game sponsored by WASA. Some of the interest has certainly been stoked by the Lobby Observer’s “Full Court Press” show. These Journalism students have done a great job keeping up with producing this show all season long – that included attending *a lot* of games, recording some highlights, and getting down here each week to anchor. It was not an easy task, given their busy schedules, including that they all play winter sports – recball or otherwise. WHS Journalism teacher, Mrs. Stoker, has been a huge advocate for the program and the boys gave a big shout out to her, to the staff here at Westborough TV, and to you, the viewers, for all the support they’ve received. We’re going to miss this crew of dedicated seniors and really hope that some of the Journalism students who aren’t graduating this year will continue with the show going forward. See you next season!
