Fire Chief Nick Perron’s Retirement Announced

Westborough TV was at the Board of Selectmen meeting tonight (Tuesday, June 16th) when Chairman George Barrette read the retirement letter that Chief Nick Perron submitted to the Board of Selectmen. “Dear Board of Selectmen, after much thoughtful consideration, please accept this letter as my official notification of my intent to retire from my position as Fire Chief on August 1st, 2015. I have truly enjoyed my 43 years with the Fire Department, and have especially enjoyed my 20 years as fire chief. It has been a very rewarding experience and the best job anyone could have. The continued support the board has given me and my department during my tenure is greatly appreciated. I will be around for months to come should anyone need anything. Westborough is a special place for me and will always be my home.” The Board of Selectmen indicated they have accepted the Chief’s retirement, with George Barrette describing the resignation as “bittersweet” and stating that they will be discussing this event more at next week’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting.
