After regaining control of the Nathan Fisher House (201 Turnpike Road/Rt 9 West, Westborough, MA) from the Commonwealth of MA in 2010, Westborough attempted to find a buyer for the historic 1820 home and the 3.3 acres on which it sits. The historic preservation restrictions, while appealing to many in town who had spent money and hours of volunteer time attempting to restore the home and turn it into a house museum in Westborough, proved to be prohibitive for most prospective buyers.

Finally, in June 2015, the Board of Selectmen voted to accept a bid from Release Well Being Center, LLC and local owner Linda Townsend. To the delight of many, Linda’s proposal and vision includes a plan to restore the historic home, while adding approximately 7,000 square feet devoted to a wellness center and another 7,000 square feet to retail and/or restaurant usage.

Westborough TV caught up recently with Linda to get an inside view of the house and property before work begins. Westborough TV plans to document the renovation progress over time so that interested residents can get a glimpse of the restoration of this beautiful and historic Westborough site.
