Westborough Historical Society presents “Pretty Powerful: The History of Our Clothes”

The Westborough Historical Society and Dr. Charlotte Haller of Worcester State University gave a presentation titled, “Pretty Powerful: The History of Our Clothes” on Monday, April 1, 2024.

Everything you wear, from a T-shirt to a power suit, hijab, or uniform, has societal and personal significance. Professor Haller shed light on how women’s fashion has evolved as a result of their increased social influence and what clothing says about the ideals of those who wear it.

This program was sponsored, in part, by a grant from the Westborough Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. It was free and open to the public.
