There is still time to help out – June 1st deadline! Started by residents Nancy Wright and Maureen Ambrosino, the Purse Project Westborough focuses on collecting gently-used purses to distribute to women in need, with the goal of filling them with brand-new items, such as hair brushes, scarves, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, chap stick/lip gloss, fuzzy socks, rain ponchos, and nail polish, as well as $10 gift cards to department stores, restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores. Bags might also include bracelets, sunglasses and other small “want” versus “need” items that the recipients may not have money to purchase. Once filled, we will deliver purses to organizations that will distribute to families in need.
