Old and Worn Flag Retirement Day

The Westborough Veterans Advisory Board invited town residents to come to Veterans Freedom Park in Westborough, MA on September 30, 2023 and bring their old and worn-out U.S. flags to have them properly disposed of. Special guests and performers were The National Lancers from Framingham, MA, one of the oldest cavalry organizations in the U.S. The Board indicated that “This was intended to be a respectful, interactive, and informational session on proper flag care and disposal.” This program was supported by Westborough’s Veterans Service Officer (VSO), our local Scouting organizations and Westborough Police, Fire, and Public Works departments. All residents of Westborough were encouraged to attend and bring flags for “retirement” and to participate in the program. Westborough Veterans Advisory Board can be reached at Westborough Town Hall, Westborough, MA. 508-366-3085.
