Recently, the Westborough Economic Development Committee has recognized Amazon with the New Development Project award. After an exhaustive search for a site suitable to build a new manufacturing and technology hub, the Amazon Robotics team chose to expand their presence in Westborough and re-purpose the former AstraZeneca property on Otis Street. Building on the successes the company saw in hiring talent in Westborough and the greater MetroWest area, Amazon Robotics decided that doubling-down on their investment and creating a world-class manufacturing and R&D facility in Westborough would allow them greater access to recruit and retain top local talent. The new site increased their Westborough footprint more than ten-fold, doubled the size of their Massachusetts presence, and has created 200+ high tech jobs in the area.
