CMASS Champs! WHS Boys Hoops Win Central Div II Title!

For the first time since 1991, the Westborough High School Rangers boys basketball team has captured the Central Mass Championship. It was a huge win today in front of a large crowd with Ranger Nation fans showing up in a big way for their team – a team they have strongly supported every step of this exciting season. The game was tight early on with the Rangers down 25-26 against Medway at the half. But the vibe in the locker room must have been good, because the guys came out and dominated in the second half – outscoring Medway 22-6 in Q3 and 26-7 in Q4 for a resounding victory of 73-39. The team does not yet know when or who they play next, but it will be in the semi-finals for the D2 state championship. Watch for details!

Oh and by the way, just a little extra something going on during today’s game – Matt Doherty got his 1,000th point! Along the way to victory, Matt managed to achieve something really special – hitting the 1000 point mark for his high school career.
