At a recent Business Forward Females Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce luncheon, over 100 local business professionals heard from featured speaker, Collette Divito, a 27 year old woman with Down Syndrome who started her own company “Collettey’s Cookies.” Watch the full presentation here. Collette had been creating her own recipe for cookies for fun, but after rejection over and over again when applying for a job and being told she had great skills but was not “a good fit,” she started her own business with the help of her mother and sister.
Collette is not only determined to show everyone how capable people with (dis) abilities are, but her mission is to open production facilities across the country and employ thousands of (dis) abled people! To learn more about Collette and her personal story and journey, visit www.colletteys.com.
