The Westborough Fine Arts Orchestra Program is very pleased to announce an upcoming livestream Westborough Concert Hour especially for Westborough families on Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 pm. This Concert Hour will feature 21-year-old cellist Zlatomir Fung, a former Westborough student who, in recent years, won first prize in several international competitions leading to his reputation as one of the greatest cellists of his generation. Last June, Fung won the gold medal in cello in the renowned International Tchaikovsky Competition in Russia, the first time in thirty years that an American has won that prestigious award.

Zlatomir Fung, currently in his third year at the Juilliard Music School in New York City, is now back at home sheltering with his family in Westborough. We are proud that Fung was a student at our very own Mill Pond School, participating in our orchestra program all three years, and are delighted to be able to offer this special livestream performance to our community during these challenging times.
Fortunately for us, Fung will be joined for part of the performance by I-Jung Huang, a superb musician/violinist who also attended the Juilliard School and is currently staying in the Fung family home during this time.
During the broadcast, Fung will be answering questions submitted by students in Westborough’s Grade 4-12 Orchestra Program. He is very excited about having the opportunity to perform this special concert for our Westborough Community!

While we hope many families will be able to watch the concert live at 7pm on Thursday, May 28th, we also plan to make a recording which will be available in the future.
