Care Packages for Troops – Ready to Send!

Westborough really loves our Veterans! This past Monday, April 30th, 2018 the Veterans Advisory Board culminated their community drive to provide care packages to troops primarily from Massachusetts that are stationed overseas. The First United Methodist Church assisted the Veterans Advisory Board with the logistics for the drive and then hosted the group of volunteers including students, residents and veterans who worked together to wrap up and finalize the packages.  The packages included hundreds of donated items and completed care packages  from the greater Westborough community that have been collected over the past few months at various locations throughout town.  Monday’s volunteers were even honored to get a visit and heartfelt thank you from Major General Gary Keefe (the Adjutant General) and Sergeant Major Gregory Widberg (the State Command Sergeant Major).  Visit the Veterans Advisory Board website to learn more about all the activities they sponsor.
