Westborough TV has partnered with Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School’s Radio and Television Broadcasting area to give students a look into what goes on in a real studio setting. The curriculum is designed to expose students to vast career opportunities that exist in the creative/multi-media, communications field.
Students receive on the job training in visual problem solving across various media, including video editing, motion graphics, cable and web broadcasting, and video and TV broadcasting.
They learn to plan, write, produce, direct, and star in a multitude of different shows, including live productions using Broadcast Pix switchers.
Every show is written by the students to deliver their message to the audience. Coming to the studio prepared, with script in hand and a good game plan is essential to the class. Every one works together to learn and create fun, exciting, and informative content for Assabet’s student population and for the towns they serve.
Students learn how to problem solve, experiment, and explore to create visual solutions using the Adobe® Creative and Multimedia Suite of applications. Programs used on a daily basis include Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, and Sound Booth.
All of this comes together in producing a future multi-media professional prepared to enter a two-or four-year college or entry-level employment.
