The first annual Amazing Race was a huge success! The event, sponsored by WABA (Westborough Athletic Boosters Association) was designed to be a fun, community-building fundraiser that would serve as a means to raise money for the “Week of Lights” happening later this fall.
Congratulations to the Fales Parent Group team (Gary Abrams, Dan McCarthy, Rob Connor, and Orin Parvin) for their first place finish. They were crowned the Most Amazing People of Westborough! They also earned the right to defend their title next year. Runners up were En Fuego (Collin Priest, Craig Nichols, Griffin Barry, Will Kelley, Colin Donovan, and at times John Priest). It was a fight to the finish but in the end the Fales team finished the final blind-folded challenge just ahead of En Fuego. Who knew it could be so much fun to kiss a goal post, find books in the library or dig for buried “treasure” on Chauncy beach…hmmm…what will we have to do next year??
More on the “Week of Lights”
Boosters funds the week of lights through generous donations from their members and other organizations throughout the Westborough community. This is an event that is currently held every 2 years during the Fall Sports season during September or October. It is a great opportunity for the community to come together to support our amazing student athletes, cheerleaders and band members!
