6 Earned Eagle Scout Award from Troop 4

Troop 4 recently held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor in which they recognized 6(!) of their scouts who had earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Recent WHS graduates Dan Boucher, Isaac Grosner, Matthew Plunkett and Tim Sherman received the award along with WHS sophomore Brett Lebow, and St. John’s graduate Alyxandr Srnka. Watch the full ceremony that was held at Mill Pond School on June 25, 2016 here.

Eagle Scout is the highest achievement attainable in the Boy Scouts of America Boy Scouting program. The requirements necessary to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout take years to fulfill and include earning at least 21 merit badges. The Eagle Scout must demonstrate Scout Spirit, an ideal attitude based upon the Scout Oath and Law, service, and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages. Eagle Scouts are presented with a medal and a badge that visibly recognizes the accomplishments of the Scout. Additional recognition can be earned through Eagle Palms, awarded for completing additional tenure, leadership, and merit badge requirements.

Only four percent of all Boy Scouts are granted this rank and only after a lengthy review process. Troop 4 must take great pride in the large number of Eagle Scouts the troop has produced!
